INVESTMENT CASTING
SELEE® Advanced Ceramics® is a leading supplier of crucibles, ladles, spouts and ram materials to the Investment Casting industry and has been for over 60 years. SELEE® Advanced Ceramics® crucibles are designed to give excellent corrosion and erosion resistance, excellent thermal shock resistance and consistent performance to reduce casting inclusions and maximize throughput. Compared to rammed linings, crucibles offer better spalling resistance and faster cure out times. Crucibles range in melting capacity from 1 to 4000 lbs. Choose from our current size list or contact us for a custom size.
SELEE® Advanced Ceramics® Ladles and Spouts are manufactured from the same prefired materials as our crucibles, thereby reducing inclusions compared to rammed ladles and hand formed spouts. Ladle liners are available in a variety of sizes and spout configurations, as well as open top and tea pot designs. Choose from our current size list or contact us for a custom size. Preformed spouts provide a clean consistent metal pour from campaign to campaign and are custom made to your trough shape and furnace dimensions.
SELEE® Advanced Ceramics® materials for investment castings include our HYcor® High Alumina, Fused Silica and MOR Shock Mullite. Our PAK-TITE ram products include our PAK-TITE Spinel backup ram and PAK-TITE PL90F plastic for top caps and spouts. SELEE® Advanced Ceramics® covers all of your melting needs with our wide range of products.
SELECTION AND USE
Selecting the proper crucible for melting ferrous alloys is often viewed as an insignificant decision when in reality, considerable effort should be given to this important decision. Crucible performance can have dramatic effects on foundry costs and the competitive ability of the shop. The melting crucible can affect the overall quality of the castings directly through scrap rates and it can also affect a shop’s labor costs resulting from frequently changed crucibles. There are many variables that influence crucible performance. Please contact SELEE® Advanced Ceramics® technical sales staff for assistance in choosing the right product for your application.
